If it's possible to see a scent, that's basically what Diptyque is letting you do in this animated short film, which celebrates the release of its new festive candles.

A Night At Diptyque is the fantastical story of a candlemaker named Henri. He is stranded in his store because of the heavy snowfall in Paris one night, so he can't return home to have dinner with his family. As he grows more and more upset waiting in his cold store for the storm to subside, a little paper harlequin appears and asks Henri to light three candles – purple, red and green. One by one, as each candle is lit, Henri is entertained by an enchanting mini theatrical display which introduces the new candles. If it's possible to see a scent, that's basically what Diptyque has done in this video.

A moment, please, to soak in that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you know Christmas is just around the corner.

Diptyque's candle collection comes in three festive scents. In order of their appearance in the short film, they are Un Encens Étoilé (Sparkling Incense), Épices Et Délices (Delicious Spices) and Le Roi Sapin (The Festive Fir Tree). Un Encens Étoilé is a blend of warm and citrus notes like elemi, cloves, incense and sweet vanilla that set the perfect start-of-Christmas mood. Épices Et Délices reminds you of the best Christmas treats with cinnamon, honey, and hints of star anise. Finally, the Le Roi Sapin is a manifestation of what a lush pine forest (or a Christmas tree!) smells like.

A Night At Diptyque candle collection (RM295 for 190g; RM175 for 70g) will be available at Diptyque Pavilion and kensapothecary.com.my from 1 November, before hitting shelves at all KENSapothecary stores from 15 November.
