Top stories: Tory Burch faces backlash
Gal Gadot gives birth, 'Beauty and the Beast' to show in Malaysia and you won't see General Li Shang in the live-action remake of 'Mulan'
American designer Tory Burch made headlines this week when her Tory Story: An American Road Trip campaign, featuring Poppy Delevingne and the song Juju On That Beat, was accused of cultural appropriation. Read all about the drama here. On the bright side, we have a new Tory Burch boutique that has just opened at Suria KLCC.
After last week's disappointing news about the status of Beauty and the Beast in Malaysia, it was a relief to hear that the movie has been cleared to show in cinemas without any cuts. Meanwhile, fans of Mulan are not too happy about how the live-action remake will turn out; there will be no General Li Shang, and there might not be any songs. (Sigh.) Speaking of music, Italian fashion house Gucci is hosting its very own music festival in Milan; you might be able to get tickets for it. And have you see the brand's meme campaign? It's brilliant.
Moving on to Hollywood matters, Amanda Seyfried tied the knot in secret, Gal Gadot gave birth, Kim Kardashian opened up about the Paris robbery (her half-sister Kendall Jenner was robbed earlier this week too), Ansel Elgort did a rendition of La La Land's City of Stars, Ryan Reynolds explained that kiss with Andrew Garfield, Amy Schumer dropped out of the live action Barbie movie and Patrick Stewart revealed why he almost rejected his Star Trek role.
Since it's the end of the week, t's time to treat yourself. Don't know where to start? Look to the special-edition red iPhones, these pretty embroidered denim pieces, these rose-scented beauty products, slipper mules, must-try fragrances (including the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Purse Spray) and our favourite makeup palettes.
