Yuna has been nominated for the BET Centric Award, making her the first Malaysian to be nominated for a BET Award.

The Centric Award was formerly awarded to neo soul and/or traditional R&B artists, but since 2013, BET used it to recognise specific songs. Previous winners include Beyoncé's Formation and The Weeknd's Earned It.

Yuna is in the running for the award for her song Crush, a duet with Usher. Her fellow nominees are Mary J. Blige's Thick of It, Kehlani's Distraction, Solange's Cranes in the Sky, Fantasia's Sleeping With The One I Love and Syd's All About Me.

The BET Awards, an annual award show by the Black Entertainment Television network, celebrates African Americans and other minorities in various fields of entertainment. This year's BET Awards airs on 25 June 2017 in the US. We'll be keeping tabs on how Yuna fares from over here. Good luck, Yuna!
