Bobbi Brown is leaving her namesake cosmetics brand
She exits the brand after a 25-year tenure
Bobbi Brown is exiting her namesake cosmetics brand after 25 years at its helm. According to Estée Lauder Companies Inc., the parent company of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, the makeup guru will be leaving her post by the end of the month. Peter Lichtenthal, the global brand president will take over the business.
Of course, this decision was not one made lightly. At the brand's 25th anniversary party, Brown claimed it to be a milestone that made her realise "it was time to start a new chapter and move on to new ventures", although she did not specify what sort.
"I am thankful for the extraordinary people that I've had the privilege to work with over the years and proud of the creative endeavours and innovative products we've created together," Brown said. "I am also incredibly grateful to The Estée Lauder Companies and the Lauder family for the many opportunities they gave me. I'm excited to see what the future holds."
With only 10 lipstick shades, Brown established her brand back in 1991 in New York City. It was later on acquired by Estée Lauder in 1995. The pioneering cosmetics brand was built on Brown's belief that "makeup is a way for a woman to look and feel like herself, only prettier and more confident".
Her exit is sad news but there's always her blog to keep us glued to for beauty tips!
